Under the cover of night, two white trucks with unmistakeable red emblems on their side navigate the icy streets of Detroit on a seasonably cold night in search of the city's most vulnerable population.
In response to the pandemic, and thanks to funding from Ford Motor Co., the Salvation Army of Metro Detroit is adding special trips to its daily Bed and Bread program once a month to provide hot meals, care packages, and medical checkups and offer shelter to the city's homeless.
