The Driver is responsible for shuttling patients to and from various community organizations, treatment providers, judicial hearings and other locations identified by the treatment team according to agency policy/procedures. The Driver must be attentive to traffic and weather conditions while staying on schedule and ensuring the safety of passengers. Drivers are responsible for maintaining a safe environment within company vehicles by enforcing rules of conduct and responding to emergencies as they arise. 

Education/Experience 

• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred 

• Current Michigan Chauffeur’s Driver’s License required 

• Demonstrated ability to adhere to State of Michigan driving laws, evidenced by maintaining an insurable driving record in accordance with CCIH commercial auto insurance carrier required 

• Minimum two (2) years of recent experience driving a limousine, cab, passenger bus, rideshare, patients or similar transportation mode required 

• Experience working with patients exhibiting severe and persistent mental illness preferred 

• Ability to work cooperatively with staff and others involved in the delivery of services to patients 

• Must be comfortable with patient transport; familiarity with the Detroit Metro area preferred 

• Must maintain confidentiality relating to treatment in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
